Charter

Part of the reason behind our guild's success is the structure and leadership. Since early 2010, The Metalocalypse has provided a home for mature players who want to tackle end-game content in an enjoyable atmosphere. Integrity, fairness, and camaraderie are highly valued here, as we believe in "people over purples".

All members, prospective recruits and current members alike, are expected to not only understand but respect our policies. Together, with a clear vision, we can make this guild more than simply text under your name, but also a happy home in Azeroth.

II. Raiding Policies/Expectations

"You get to compete, just like everybody else does. If you're not starting that first game, you need to keep competing. If you are starting the first game, you had better keep competing, too. ... There's going to be plenty of opportunities for you to play. How much you play is not up to me." -- Kevin Sumlin

A. Attendance

Here at TM, 100% attendance is not required as our schedule is designed for busy adults with limited playtime. However, to provide a more reliable raiding environment, we aim to keep a healthy roster and as such, need core team members to be able to attend the majority of raids. That said, we are very flexible with people and their unique schedules or situations, but the needs of the many do outweigh the needs of the few. We believe "the show must go on" and will always do our best to make it a great one. To support this, substitutes and part-time players will be part of the team as well.

Basically what this means is we will attempt to form the strongest group possible from the available people. This mostly applies to progression fights, but once the boss is on "farm" we will give everyone (provided they can pull their weight) a turn at a kill and opportunity for loot.

***Do not be discouraged if you happen to be in such a situation! It is true we are only as strong as our weakest link, but that doesn't mean the solution is necessarily a permanent removal of said link. Instead, take it as motivation to improve for next time. Raid leaders evaluate performance after every raid and always give people a chance to prove themselves.***

B. Preparation

By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail.

C. During the raid

Just to see who has actually read this, the answer to the application question about rules is: Yes, but I was drunk.

III. Loot

Be aware that since Dragonflight the looting system has changed to Group Loot, and we're having everyone pass except a designated officer then handing out loot as per usual. Our loot rules (see below) are essentially "Need Before Greed", slightly modified only to promote fairness and reward effort. We see loot as a by-product of our goals, not THE end goal.
